Episode Two begins my interviews with participants at the Sankofa CPE Clergy and Chaplains’ Mental Wellness Conference. In this episode you will meet Ralph and hear his thoughts about the meaning and impact of this conference. In the world that we are living in and managing through, I want to lift up a thought that of friend of mine shared with me recently. They stated that they believed our community is ripe for a second reconstruction era. I had to reflect on this statement for a couple weeks. What I came away with is two-fold. I agree in with the term ‘reconstruction’ and see the application not merely focused on the political. I see the reconstruction of the church and how it will need to be the anchor of community for not just spiritual wellness but physical, mental, emotional, and psychological wellness. Not just feeding people but educating people about what to eat for wellness. Teaching people how to cook differently. Offering psychological safe space for people to revive and flourish and thrive. Be immersed in a holistic approach to care (mind, body and spirit). I think you are going to love the nuggets of wisdom Ralph shared during this interview.
